I need to know how would mainframe be accessed from my Java application ?
be sure to check out the java connector API. I believe it is meant for
tasks just like this

Hi Kalpana,

The following Middleware is required to access Mainframe from a Java or .NET Application..

- MQSeries or ECI (IBM CICS Transaction Gateway) middleware is supported for communication between J2EE components and CICS

- eBiz transactions MQSeries middleware is supported for communication between .NET components and CICS or IMS eBiz Transactions

- J2EE or .NET components and IMS eBiz Transactions

- eBiz Transactions are isolated from the middleware transport
