1. There is no such term as "copybook" in Natural (however, there is a CopyCode)
2. There is no such term as "local copybook" in Natural (however, there is a Local Data Area).

Please clarify.

No.

Natural Copycodes may include any valid Natural statement (except DEFINE DATA).

Converting a Natural Copycode to COBOL Copybook means to actually convert Natural to COBOL, which is not so straight-forward.

Conversion of Natural to COBOL can be automated using tools and methodologies. For more information, please contact me in Private Message.

Hi Subba,

Your requirement is not yet clear. What I understad is

You have a LDA in Natural and want to creat the corresponding COBOL copybook.
For the above requirement, there is nothing straight forward as told by Ofer.

May be there are tools available from 3rd parties, but you can develop a small utility by writing a Natural program to create teh appropriate Cobol copybook from the Natural LDA. (This is what we did in one of the project I was working).
Thanks,

If you have Adabas and Natural, then it is likely that you have Predict, Software AG's data dictionary. Predict can convert LDAs to COBOL copybooks.

Also, Predict can list the copybooks, optionally with field offsets, giving you the "copybook length."
