I'm would like to know the easiest way to get the storage group free space.
Do any commands available to get the free space (like SMS DISPLAY command) other than below methods???
a) QW , S
b) DCOLLECT
Which could help me to set up automatic email alert for Critical storage groups. |

use the reporting facilities of ismf
from the ismf main panel choose option 11 ( enhanced acs management )
and then IIRC option 5 |

Call me old fashioned, but as a storage person I tend to make sure that the critical DASD pools have enough DASD in them, and that it is properly managed, rather than chase around sending alerts for a situation that should not be permitted to arise. |

Aw Expat, c'mon. . .
Where's your sense of adventure. . .
Many places reward crisis solving rather than crisis prevention. . .
Sometimes there's even more reward for solving a problem of one's own making than penalty for poor performance creating it |

Only thing worse than getting the crisis call at o'dark:30 is when the call is for something you had already warned against |

AND left the recovery procedure with ops to follow if it happened.

Actually reminds me of one (un)memorable time when we had a bit of "unusual" activity going on at night and to prevent concern/confusion, i went to the center around 2:30am - just in case.
Unfortunately, one of the worriers wasn't aware that i was on-site and called the house. Did not make my wife very happy. . . |
