1. There are three major sort products on the market for z/OS systems: SYNCSORT from SYNCSORT, DFSORT from IBM, and CA-SORT from Computer Associates. Never heard of one called MFSORT. Did you try an Internet search?

2. Yes.

catalog procedures can be nested with the instream procedures.
