What is Impact Analysis

Hi all,

I've finished mainframe training and currently attending interview
could you just tell me how we go about "impact analysis" in a detail pls..
i know we have to search in 3.14 option.. but dont know the proper procedure.. will it give all the prg. and the table names w.r.t field.. this question may be silly.. but it will be greatful if u ans in detail to attend interviews.. Thank you

Here are the few more doubts.. ( may be silly.. but need ans pls)

What are the tools and procedures we use to do the impact analysis.?
how to find the db2 table, cobol pgm and jcl that is getting affected?
what is sort sequence related to impact analysis? does sort has anything to do with impact analysis? ( got question from interview)
