Hi friends
1. how do i resolve ASRA abend
i said we need to go into SPOOL & get the offset value of where the abend
accured,but the interview guy didn't agree
Plz give ur inpu's on how to resolve ASRA abends
2. how to i use variable length records in vsam
what are the changes we need to do in a program

if abend happenned in production

1. Go to Abend-aid
2. go to the region where the Abend occurs
3. add the source listing dataset there.
4. then check the debug option there you will get the place where abend has happened.
If its in test region

intertest r xpedit the program and find out the place for ASRA abend takes place |

I guess you can use CEBR too to get dump of the program.
Then you may use normal cobol soc7/soc4 methods to slove the abend.
CEBR will give you the location where the abend too place, and a small error descrip.
Correct if wrong.
