Hi all,
This is the information, which most of the users wants to see. This is not at all related to cobol but I want to give the following details for the members who are attending for interviews. Ok.
Moving a Job from Testing to Production Environment
Background : The implementation process for a new job stream going from test to the production environment requires a review by Production Services to insure compliance to Operations acceptance standards. The process is initiated by sending a JCR located on the WWW Change Management page. The JCR must list the programs to be moved, date job or on-line transaction is scheduled to be available to the customer and all pertinent scheduling information for batch job streams. In addition to the JCR we require Operations documentation with accurate restart/rerun instructions for each step along with backup and restore job streams for jobs that update VSAM files. Production Services will review the package to insure it meets Operations acceptance standards, upon approval the new job stream will be moved into production, or job streams not meeting standards will be returned for additions or corrections that must be made prior to production implementation. Outlined below are production policy and procedure, Production Services responsibilities, and Operations
Acceptance standards.
Policy :To move a new job stream from test to production status requires your managers approval and a review of both the job stream and supporting documentation by Production Services for compliance to Operations acceptance standards. Job streams or documentation not meeting acceptance standards will be returned for
corrections or missing information.
Procedure :Complete the JCR and documentation. The JCR must include the following: Implementation date, programs to be moved, location of test JCL, scheduling information including dependancies with existing job streams and estimated execution time. Operations documentation must include backup and restore job names if job updates VSAM files, parameter information, and restart information
for ALL steps.
Production Services supervisor and staff will review the job stream and documentation . Upon acceptance the job stream will moved from test to production. Job streams with errors or missing information will be returned for correction. |
