1. what is the difference between redefine & rename ?
nb:- some people says both occupies the same mem. location while
others say just reverse. please clarify. icon_question.gif

Hi friend,

REDEFINES Clause is used to save your memory space while RENAMES caluse is used for display purpose.

01 A.
02 M1
02 M2
02 M3
02 M4.

To display M2, M3 and M4 you can say:
DISPLAY M2, M3, M4.

Instead of that you can create a new group as:

66 B RENAMES M2 THRU M4.

And you can simply say

DISPLAY B.
