I am getting IMS user Abend U0402.
This ABEND is coming only sometimes.
If anyone knows the specific reason or soln for this please help me out. |

U0402 IMS user abend?
Generally IMS abends will be two letter like GE,GB,AC,AE etc. |

Hi Radhakrishnan,
The same thing rajnana told, can you please tell us why you are repeating, one morething is GA,GB,AC....... are not the abends those are STATUS CODES.

Hi rajnana,
As you already know, its an USER ABEND. means it is SHOP Specific.
You need to go thru job log for more info'n on this abend code or check with System Manual to find the Description.

Not abend codes, these two letter words are RETURN CODE, received after making a call to IMS Database.

Is U0402 an IMS user abend???
No.U0402 is not an IMS user abend.U0402 is an user abend which comes thru cobol pgm.cobol throws such user abend.

can u clarify whether U0402 an IMS user abend.
IMS abends with status codes.normally in our shop we call the status codes as IMS abends codes(i.e. the status codes).
I think,rajnana has to explain the query whether its an IMS abend or not?
if yes,whats the IMS status code? |

I agree calling it USER ABEND, but is that a bad idea classifying it IMS USER Abend.

OK, So what you call "SPACES" i.e. successful execution.
Well, all this I dont think worth to discuss, whether its IMS USER ABEND or an USER ABEND.
Original query started on What denotes a U0402.

As a job searcher like me its worth to clarify.
I was asked whether user abend in IMS is an IMS one or cob pgm thrown code in Infy interview.The answer being that its not related to IMS.based on pgm,user abend occurs.In IMS ,based on status code,it throws user abend.so got confused with the posts from rajnana,pradeep. |

Idont think U0402 an user abend related to IMS.
iapologise if i made you to misunderstood my reply.
IMS abends with these codes(status code ga,gb,ac...) and not these codes are IMS abend codes.As status codes are internal,i told IMS abends will be ge,ac.I knew and agree that,its a status code. |

regarding u0402 this is a User Abend IMS only issues this ...
U0456-- this is a pcb contention...that mean previous job has a exclusive access to the pcb ,suddenly it is abended .. so i cant release all the resources.. another steps.. jobs get this status code if they are unable to get access to that pcb,,
GA,GB,GE-- ALL THESE CALLED ABENDCODES....IN IMS
