Is there a possibility that we can go to spool and get the start time and end time by writing a jcl or a cobol program and place the timings in a pds. Because we are automating the process of noting the job timings and placing them in a word file.

We usually collect this info by writing a program to read SMF data. The JOB records contain start and end time as well as submit (reader) time and much more.
