there are many, many posts asking about dataset listings,
with different details level,

most of them are about using rexx to carry on such tasks..
and limiting the online searches and lists to the ISPF 3.4 options..

I would like to remind that the most powerful, even if a little bit slow, tools
are those found in the ISMF application...
( You might understand its relative slowness looking at the may list and reporting options )

every storage support group should be aware of the existence of such tools,
and how to use it for something else than simply administering the SMS components.

The people asking on advice on running reports on datasets are in some way empowered
with some storage management tasks, so they should be given the proper authorities

I suggest to start learning the ISMF reporting facility,
and also how to run the same in batch using the ISMF NAVIQUEST feature

the batch samples are contained in the library SYS1.SACBCNTL

i did some checking on posts concerning dataset reporting
and i found that all of them could be satisfies by running a properly customized SYS1.SACBCNTL job
