Hello friends,

I am posting in this forum after a long time. Its been almost one and half years that I had worked on IDMS. Yesterday somebody asked me a question on the difference between Non Navigational Techniques vs Navigational Techniques with respect to IDMS database. I am not sure of the answer but hope to find some help here.

According to me Navigational Techniques would be the accessing of records and moving from one record to another using DML statements like OBTAIN, FIND, etc.
But I am not sure about the Non Navigational Techniques, does it mean the use of COMMIT, ROLLBACK etc?
Or does it include the IDMS DDL commands used by DBA's.
If anybody can clarify it would be very helpful.

Regards,
Kabya
