Hi,

my requirment is to sort the two files by key which is different in 2 files

FILE1
POSITION 2-9
FILE-2
POSITION 3-10
and then merge these two into new file by matching records on key like userid.

will single control crad help for this.

You need to provide more details.

1. What is the LRECL and RECFM of the 2 files.
2. Is there a way to identify file 2 records from file 1 records?
3. Can the files have duplicates?
4. Show us a sample of input and desired output
