Do we have any tool or can we write some JCL to compress
Files which are open in the CICS environment and currently in use
without having to close them in CICS.
If already posted , kindly provide the link . |

| you can directly compress datasets on 3.4 by entering command Z but dataset must be closed for this action else you wil receive a error that dataset is open. |

I am referring to PDS datasets which are in use /open in CICS environment .
Kindly provide the links for any information on compressing these PDS .
I have searched the web but didn't get the desired result . |

Why do you think you have to compress cics datasets while cics is running?

This is not the requested answer. . . Name the ddnames or dsns.
You may want to consider changing these datasets to PDSE. |
