if MAPSET is omited from send map , what will happen? Error?

Could any one please tell me if MAPSET is omited from send map , what will happen?
This question has been asked to me in an Interview.

If the mapset name is identical to the map name, it will use the map name for the mapset name - Or at least CECI did....grin....

In case if MAP name & MAPSET name are not same, does it throws any error?

It will probably not find the mapset and fail with something like an APCT....
