| Usually, vanilla means plain or non-specific. I presume that this means either any non-specific mainframe or compatible, such as IBM, Hitachi, Fujitsu, or Amdhal. Or, maybe it means any mainframe, be it IBM (or compatible), Unisys, DEC, Tandem, or whatever else. |

Vanilla skills means technolgies like Cobol,Cics,Db2,JCL and Vsam.
