Can we update the AIX? Difference btwn VSAM and ICF Catalog

I have a small doubt in VSAM, i.e.:

1. Can we update the AIX?

2. What is the difference between VSAM Catalog and ICF Catalog?

1.First u mention clear question.IF u r update BASE CLUSTER at that time u use UPGRADE command to update automatically updates in AIX.Other wise u use ALTER command.Through ALTER also u update AIX.
2.Under ICF vsam files and non-vsam files are there.
