DB2 - Data Base 2 (Relational database used in mainframe like oracle)

JCL - Job Control Language (To schedule your programs - priority processing)

ISPF - Interactive System productivity Facility (like an editor)

We are using SPUFI to input SQL queries to DB2.

Batch means, executing your programs one by one. Application you can say Banking environment.

Hai,

Batch application means there will be no user intervention while the job is running...

Online...means ....The end user has to give some information.

But in batch jobs everthing is through files only.

regards,
hari

Batch Porc is done when a large quantum of processing is done .. sequentially .. requires more processing power ...
example .. report writing at night when there are minimal no. of users

JCL is the language of Mainframe ...
Any process to mainframe system is initiated thru the JCL code .. which makes use of certain utilities for each functionality

ISPF is the IDE / sort of navigator for mainframe operating system MVS (Multiple Virtual Storage)

VIKRAM
