tried googling, but not much use since most of the material relates to specif queries and i want a basic material

Why not try clicking on the "Manuals" link at the top of the web page, then scroll down and select the "CLIST Language Reference" manual?
Otherwise, you really need to take the time to learn how to search ibm.com for relevant documents. For a search on the topic of CLIST, I found quite a few links using this url:
