Hi all
Is there any limit in the number of fields that i can have in a normal indexed file (ie non mianframe)and VSAM file(KSDS)?

no specific limit for the no of fields...

But it's total length should not exeed the record length or a maximum of 2 GB.

Previously, there was a size limitation of VSAM...it was 2 GB...now in recent version of VSAM, this is overcome. 2GB is the total size, not record length.

Unless SPANNED option is used, the maximum length is restricted to 32,761.
