We recently migrated from z9 to IBM z10 EC. While I was checking what are the benefits or merits of z10, I came across a term like "Multi- Book Design", and z10 EC has four books. I was not able to understand the term Multi book design. Can anyone please explain the same or some reference manuals.

I did use google before and found that they have mentioned z10 is based on modular multi book design. But there is no expalnation around what "modular" means or what are the modules based on which they designed.
