EXPDT parameter

Can anyone explain me what is the difference between the following
1)LABEL=EXPDT=99000
2)LABEL=EXPDT=99365
1st one showing the expiration date as :Expiration date . . : 1999/01/00
2nd one showing the expiration date as : Expiration date . . : ***Perm***

You will need to talk to the people responsible for your tape management software for a full explanation.

Hi,

Both of them are fictional expire dates that tells the tape management software to expire the tape when it is no longer cataloged...

Perhaps to distinguish between the two 'such' type of dates your Tape Management Personnels has given them differnt alias, so would echo Expat -

On Googling LABEL=EXPDT=99365 the information got is

Means the tape on which this dataset resides is never to be scratched, rewritten or appended to. The tape is assigned to the user

LABEL=EXPDT=99365 indicates permanent retention for a tape. This keeps a tape until it is manually scratched by Data Control. Manual/online updates to the CA-1 tape catalog use the keyword PERM or PERMANENT for the same function
