Do you mean to increase the space allocated to it ?
If so, what are the current dataset space attributes, what do you want them to be, and have you tried a compress. |

| Create a save copy of the current pds with all the members, delete the original and redefine it with larger space parameters, copy the members back into it, and delete the save pds. |

Oh, sure, go for the obvious solution!
I'm actually interested to see if a storage guru knows of any new ways to do this without the use of third-party tools. |

There's not a lot you can do if the PDS has swallowed its 16 extents. as being a PDS it can not be multi volume.
I recall having used a space parameter on a DISP=OLD dataset in the past, but never to my memory a PDS. It might work for a PDS
But it all depends on the situation our OP is in |

You can use a SPACE parameter on a PDS to override the existing values but if it's hit 16 extents that's not going to work.
I use the PDS utility from the CBTTAPE for this type of activity; amazing what all it can do. |
