Meaning of SORT BY <fields> USING <fields>

What is the meaning of SORT BY <fields> USING <fields>. I am new to natural language.

It will be easier for you to read Software AG's manuals and get the answer directly (look at the STATEMENTS manual).

In general, USING will cause the fields mentioned to be kept in intemediate storage. Otherwise, they may be emptied by the SORT operation.

Software AG's manuals are copyrighted materials.

However, if you have a licensed NATURAL installed, you should have all the documentation at your shop.

If it is not in your shop and your system is licensed, you can get all of the material from Software AG.
