Are you sure it is S640 and not S604?
The system codes manuals (for z/OS) do not have anything for S640, but there is an entry for S604.
If you have got quick-ref, then try referring to the relevant pages or check this link for all the system completion codes.

Yes i am agree with Panda that there is no abend code s640.
