Has anyone used WebSphere Information Integrator Classic Event Publisher for CA-IDMS?

WebSphere? Information Integrator (WebSphere II) Classic Event Publisher for CA-IDMS makes it easy to link data events with business processes. It captures database changes to CA-IDMS by:


reading the active or recovery log


formatting the changes into relational XML messages


publishing the changes to WebSphere MQ for z/OS?




Any application or service that integrates either with WebSphere MQ directly or supports Java? Message Service (JMS) can receive the data changes asynchronously as they occur.


WebSphere II Classic Event Publisher for CA-IDMS lets database events initiate business processes. A change in an inventory value could be used to drive a product restocking workflow or the addition of a customer record could initiate welcome e-mail, credit verification, and accounting update.


This creates an application-independent, loosely coupled integration that is more adaptable to changing application environments. For example, though multiple applications may affect inventory level, a single point of integration (the data items) is driving the workflow. Changes to the applications that affect the inventory level can be made with no impact on the data event driven integration. Business can realize faster time to market - based on integration that captures the event in a single location, is more stable, and easier to maintain.


Additionally, WebSphere II Classic Event Publisher for CA-IDMS can deliver changes to Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools; custom-built processes for updating operational data stores; data warehouses; data marts; or other data targets. This minimizes bandwidth requirements and keeps target databases more closely in sync so businesses can utilize more current decision making information.
