Hello chandras and welcome to the forums,

If you are unwilling to use the scheduling software, you need to submit the job every day.

What business reason is there to not use the schedule?

Hello,

Quote: What business reason is there to not use the schedule? You may not want to, but i would ask the interviewer that same question. . .

I would also explain that every well managed datacenter uses scheduling software for these requirements. There is no reason to "work around" the scheduling software. It is used to ensure success rather than some number of homegrown ways that always fail or cause confusion at some point.

If scheduling software was some unproven concept, there might be concern, but scheduling has worked very well for over 30 years.

The interviewer needs to upgrade the quality of technical questions being used.
