Hi,
I have a job in my applicaton which runs in an hourly basis. It is updating a table which is accessed by CICS users. Due to locking issues, it abends very frequently.
So I want to terminate the CICS transactions which accesses my table, as first step in my job. Are there any JCLs available with you for acomplishing this?
Plase let me know, if my explanatoion is not clear. |

Hello,
Before a developer decides to lock out the online every hour, someone in management should be involved. If you have a very busy online system, it may well not be acceptable to lock out some or all of it for a time every hour. . . I suspect that the online system is there to support the users and taking it away every hour is very poor support.
One of the reasons we mostly all use databases is so that concurrent online and batch updates may be processed. If you have developed somethng that will not work properly, it may be time to look into a different approach. |

shanuss,
discuss with your management about acquiring some vendor software
that allows you to communicate directly with CICS from a batch
COBOL program.
the following link might help..
