Hiii,

Consider the following scenario

A robot takes a file as input, it searches a record in IMS DB. Once it finds it, it updates some fields..then next record search, fields are updated and so on. This is carried out thro' an online IMS Transaction.

Basically, this transaction is very slow and the number of updates is less.

Is there any way to increase the speed of the process from IMS Transaction point of view?

or else,

Can anyone list out the factors on which a particular IMS Transaction goes slow..???

Thanks in advance.

Hi..

Is the transaction always slow or slow only in a specific time. because, there can be some time when the online will be down. then it gets up.

Further, what role does the robot play? you are going to search a record in DB. Updation is done and next record is searched. this is what happens? For this we can do with IMS-COBOL code. What does the robot do here? i just asked for clarification.

kind regards,

gowtham

Hi,

Thanks for ur reply.

Instead of manual search and update, a Robot is performing the task. Robot is nothing but a program written in Object REXX. Only search and update DB is done by the Robot.
This Transaction was normal. Only for the past one week it is very very slow.
