Dear Saravana Kumar,

A Subsystem is like service provider which performs one or more functions until unless you requested. The following are IBM supplied subsystems

1) JES2
2) JES3
3) NETVIEW
4) IMS
5) OPC

And there are two types of subsystems namely PRIMARY, SECONDARY subsystems and MVS communicates this using
SSI(Subsystem Interface). Its act only as a mechanism for transforing control and data between a requestor and subsystem. SSI is a way for one routine to call another routine like a BALR, LINK,SVC,PC(program call)
