Hello,

There is NO requirement to install CA-IDEAL to use the CA-DATACOM products. CA-IDEAL is a 4GL programming language that was designed to operate with CA-DATACOM (it will also run against DB2), but is NOT the only to code applications for Datacom databases.

There are many sites that are COBOL/Assembler only.

Hope this helps,

Dick Scherrer
