It is not "SOC", it is "S0C".

It is System Completion Code.

Hi vimala,

S0Cx designates a set of pgm interrupts, not to be confused w/abends, e.g. SD37, S001, etc.

The difference? An abend is triggered by system software, while interrupts are triggered by a special electrical hardware signal (an interrupt).
