hi all,
Plz help me with these questions.
1) IEFBR14 is a dummy utility, but then how it is used to create sequential and Partioned data set?
2) Can two PS,having different RECFM & LRECL be concatenated.
If NO, What error code do we get?
3) To print VSAM data set we use PRINT CH IDS(/) in the ISPF panel
What does IDS(/) mean?
4) Which is efficient to use IDCAMS or ICETOOL?
5) Why LRECL=121, RECFM=FBA for all standard IBM utilities ?
6) Why the TIME = MAXIMUM , is for 248.55 days?
Thanks in advance....... |

guidelines we have to follow when concatenating DD statements:
1. Datasets must be of the same type (disk or tape)
2. All datasets must have the same logical record length
3. The dataset with the largest block size must be listed first. |

Hi
As far as i know
IEFBR14 performs following two functions
It loads register 15 with value of 0
And then it branches to the address specified in register 14.
It functions as a Subroutine 'Stub' which can be useful in some testing suitation and generally it is used in jobstep to catalog or delete specified data sets from within a batch job.
