Hi All,
Can anyone plz let me know how to change the LRECL of sequential file or its parameters?
And also please let me know how to modify any dataset parameters...(Non-VSAM, VSAM, PDS....) in general. |

I dont think you can change LRECL of an already allocated dataset given you are not making any trick of allocating another dataset with changed attributes & delete earlier.

Do you mean changing from VSAM to Non-VSAM ...???????

So we cannot change the parameters of a PS file.
Do you mean changing from VSAM to Non-VSAM ...???????

I alsoe agree with Priyes that there is ni trick to do it but you can change the LRECL by following method.
1 copy the data into some temp file.
Delete the original file.
Create the new File with increased LRECL
Copy teh data into it.

I believe its not possible.

Hi,
I am agree with Priyesh & Rupesh that we can not modify the parameters and the LRECL of a DS. |
