It is unclear what the problem is,

Please supply allocation code that is giving the problem.

Thanks,

Dave

1st extent blocks . : 36
Secondary blocks . : 379
Data set name type : PDS

by giving the following details:

VOLUME SERIAL ===> zzzzz
GENERIC UNIT ===>
SPACE UNITS ===> BLOCK

SECONDARY QUANTITY ===> 379
DIRECTORY BLOCKS ===> 720
RECORD FORMAT ===> FB

It gives the Error i already mentioned.
But when instead of BLOCK if we put TRACK/Cylinder it works fine. Why

????????

When I try this allocation, it works for me. Maybe it is some site contraint? Instead of using 'BLOCK' how does 'BLKS' work? Wish I could help more on this. Maybe somone else will have some suggestions.

Dave
