 Posted: Mon Feb 06, 2006 5:27 pm    Post subject: Suppose you have a packed decimal field with Picture Clause Suppose you have a packed decimal field with Picture Clause of s9(20) comp-3. How do you retrieve the 3rd and 4th value using Cobol, Sort(JCL) ?

If the value is 00000000009876543210 do you want 00 or 76 ? Please specify, it will make a difference in how the data is gathered. Dave
