Hi Rambabu..

1) stepname is optional.when used a RESTART or REFERBACK concept it should be unique.

2)
//step1 exec pgm=..
//...
//step2 exec pgm=..
//...
// if step2.rc < 0 or step1.rc < 0
//step3 exec pgm=..
//...
// end-if.
//step4 exec pgm=..
//...
//step5 exec pgm=..
//...

Try this..........

Thanks,
Rajesh.

1)I HAVE WRITE STEPNAME HAS DUPLICATE.WHAT HAPPEND.?

STEPNAME SHOULD BE UNIQUE IN THESE FIVE CASES
1.RESTART
2.REFERBACK
3.WHEN USING CONDITION CODE (LIKE COND=(4,LT,STEP1))
4.OVERRIDDING PARAMETER
5. IF THEN ELSE

IF YOU ARE NOT USING ANY ONE OF THESE , THEN NO PROBLEM
YOU CAN HAVE SAME STEP NAMES.

2)I HAVE FIVE STEPS. I HAVE TO EXECUTE STEP1,STEPE2,STEP4,STEP5.HOW?

ONE WAY IS USE RESPECTIVE CONDS IN SAME JCL.
AND THE OTHER WAY IS USING IEBEDIT UTILITY i.e. thrugh ANOTHER JCL
I AM GIVING YOU THE PROGRAM TO SUBMIT STEP1, STEP2, STEP4 ,STEP5FROM PERTICULAR JCL

//PAWAN16 ,,JOB,NOTIFY=PAWAN16,TIME=1
//STEP EXEC PGM=IEBEDIT
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSOUT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSUT1 DD DSN=(PATH WHERE 5 STEP JCL IS PRESENT),DISP=SHR
//SYSUT2 DD DSN=(*,INTRDR),DISP=SHR
//SYSIN DD *
EDIT TYPE=INCLUDE
STEP NAME=(STEP1,STEP2,STEP4,STEP5)
/*
//

THIS WILL EXECUTE ONLY THE MENTIONED STEPS IN THE CONTROL CARD.

DO SEND ME THE REPLY
