If you are using ISPF you can use option 6 to upload txt file to your Mainframe.
Hope this helps

Hi Friend,
to begin with, you must to know that FTP for transfert require two processes one ftp server and one ftp agent. the transferts evolve between server and agent in tow-way, but the connection is always initiate from agent to server or between two servers. Consequently you must check if the FTP server has started in your shop and if you has got ftp agent on your desktop, afterwards get the ip address or url from your mainframe. Then process as follow.
On your DOS command screen from your PC.
S:\>FTP
ftp> open IPADDR or mainframe URL
Connected to mainframe URL
220-TCPFTP1 IBM FTP CS V1R6 at mainframe URL, 08:24:41 on 2006-01-19.
220 Connection will close if idle for more than 5 minutes.
Utilisateur (mainframe URL:(none)) : enter your userid
331 Send password please.
Mot de passe :
230 USERID is logged on. Working directory is "your working directory.".
ftp>
Regards.
