Hi friends,
I was asked this question in an interview...plz gimme the ryt answer for this
Ques: VSAM CI Split will happen when
1) record Addition,deletion
2) record addition,deletion,updation
3)record updation
am get confused with the option 1 and 2...help me to know the ryt answer

Hi Kumar,
In Deletion CI split wont occur. so Choice 3 is right. |

But how abt addition, if the CI is not enough to carry all the records then the split will occurs...so i think the answer is option 1 and i want to clear is it ryt or wrong

Hi kumar,
U r right, By Addition also it will get split. ie., in general whenever the table is added with some data either new or existing record get updated with more no. of datas then the CI split will occur. since the Deletion will not split how the choice 1 will b right .. so only i suggest choice 3. |
