Hi,
Let me share my views on your topic.

Normally Project will be done in Test environment and once the testing being successful, it will be moved to Production environment.

Production environment is one where Common users will be using the system and it is common that the users do not possess technical knowledge of the system.

Maintenance can be of many types. E.g : Enhancement maintenance, Support Maintenance etc.,

On Other words, End users will escalate the issues they face with the system to the company, and the Maintenance team will need to give support at the right time.

Thanks,
Mani

Hi mak_tcs,

U had provided a good information to all of our team... fine.. by the way in mainframe many of the work purely depends in support maintenance type so what do u think about that.. only few companies are with enhancements.. if a freshers is put up on support first and after that for maintenance how can he improve????? can u catch my point...

Hi Khamarutheen,

Freshers may find tough time when they are put in Support Project. Because those projects are schedule dependant.
But they will get good exposure to technology in very short time.

My view is.. one should slowly gain experience through enhancement projects and later he can play a role in Support Project..

Please add points!!
Thanks,
Mani

Hi Khamarutheen,

Even I am not experienced enough to give suggestion. But I can say one thing, One should learn to love his current assignment rather than worrying about future!!

Thanks,
Mani
