IKJEFTA1 is actually "batch TSO". Saying you got an error, without saying what is the utility/language the was running is meaningless.

Hello,
Why in the world would you submit jcl to execute a program that you did not know what that program was?
Just because someone "told me to" is not a good reason - we need to know what we submit and why we submit it |

Hi,
There are many reasons but the main reason for going for utilities IKJEFT1A,IKJEFT1B instead of IKJEFT01 is when the DB2 is down
Job abends when using the utility IKJEFT01.
But it doesn't when using the utility IKJEFT1A or IKJEFT1B.
Please correct me if i am wrong.
Cheers

ikjeft01 has the alternatives of abending or exiting with return code 0..
so it is not possible to implement any jcl logic based on RC
ikjeft1a/ikjeft1b ( and I' ll keep it short ) will exit with the return code issued
by the rexx script being executed.
for more details look at the tso reference/guide
so... no DB2 considerations involved |
