Hi All,
My requirement is to automate the testing of Mainframe CICS application using REXX . Rexx will be used for providing the Data to CICS screen for testing purposes. Can any one tell me if this is possible?

If it is already your requirement, I don't see how possible or not comes into it. You can't mean your company routinely givesout impossible requirements, that would be silly.

However, unless you can imagine how Rexx can sit in the user's chair and type, you are not going to get it.

You need a non-Mainframe Rexx which you use as a macro language for your emulator. Simple.

If you were not aware of this, you need to spend time understanding the relevant differences between a Mainframe running CICS and you typing at your desk.

There are automated testing tools on the market., even for CICS Your company would be much better served by acquiring one of these rather than attempting to develop your own. Depending upon how elaborate the "requirement" is, tool acquisition could wind up being cheaper than developing one.

Why REXX and make more efforts and complicate things, as others asked, do you not have any of the automation software that is invented to do such type of work? I have seen QTP used at my place. refer these earlier posts and see if they hint you.
