Hi,

I am planning on using seven $TA,T=hh.mm,'$AJ(jobname)' commands to release held jobs daily for a 1 week.

Would that cause any harm or any considerations I need to take before doing that?

Also could you please let me know how to cancel a $TA command once issued.

Regards,

Do you have the necessary access to set the automatic command?

In terms of dangers or considerations, how on earth would we know when we have no idea what the jobs you're releasing will do or not?

According to the JES2 manuel this is how to cancel the automatic command.

>>-$C A--+-,ALL-+----------------------------------------------><
'-cccc-'

Parameters
ALL
JES2 cancels the processing of all automatic command entries you are authorized to cancel and deletes those entries.
Note: Put a comma before this parameter.
cccc
The 1 to 4 character identifier of an automatic command entry. JES2 cancels the processing of the specified command entry and then deletes the entry.
Note: Do not put a comma before this parameter.

Yes

The job being released poses no threat as it is a reporting job which I have been running for about an year and does not do anything complicated.

By considerations I meant, are there any limits to the number of JES commands that could be $ T A 'ed and waiting to run later. Would that impact JES or something similar to keep in mind when doing this.

I can't remember seeing a limit for the number of automatic commands. Nowadays most people will use some sort of system automation instead anyway.
Depending on the amount of commands and output generated you may run into various kind of buffer shortages, and of course you don't want to issue the commands every 10 seconds.
Another option is to send the output of those jobs to a special destination and then issue one command purging from that destination with a certain age. Check JES2 Commands manual section '$P O Job' for details.
As always, it depends.

Willy, Thank you for insights, I plan on submitting 1 single job daily. Or the most 2 per day.
