Hi,
I am trying to schedule a job using TWS which will just pass the jobname and a file name to a generic job (physical job) housed in a PDS. Is it possible to point a virtual job to another job using TWS?
Any information will be helpful regarding this.
Thank you |

I'm not entirely clear what you're trying to achieve. The operation name, as specified in TWS, must match a PDS member name in one of the job libraries, i.e.; one of the datasets concatenated to the EQQJBLIB DDname.
That said, the contents of said member could be generic, and the precise action taken by the job would depend on the parameters that are passed to it. These parameters may be TWS supplied ones (which are mostly, but not exclusively, date and time related), ones that are specified in a JCL variable table based on some other defined criteria, or specified by the operator using TWS panels.
That may not be quite what you want. If you can expand a little, you may get more relevant suggestions. |

a job can do anything... even submitting another job,
but, most probably the submitted job will not be under TWS control
is that what You want ? |
