Hi,

Our shop has never done a cleanup on the recon datasets, I could see logs from 1996. We are seeing overhead and decided to run cleanup, before we try on the actual test datasets we decided to copy the recon datasets to another vsam and run the cleanup process. I was able to get rid of most of the data by using command

CLEANUP.RECON RETPRD(365) LASTIC

However I do see 6 records with the message.

DSP0179I EXTRANEOUS LOGALL RECORD FOUND IN RECON

One of them is

LOGALL
15.345 10:41:32.765984 LISTING OF RECON
START = 98.278 03:03:38.900000 *
EARLIEST ALLOC TIME = 00.000 00:00:00.000000
DBDS ALLOC=0

When I checked the manuals it says there is some inconsistency on the recon datasets. I searched through the manuals to see how this can be fixed but I could not find out a direct or step by step solution for this.

could you please guide me through on how to deal with the DSP0179I?

Thanks in advance!
