here I am trying to explain in short.
THE REPRO COMMAND IS USED TO COPY VSAM CLUSTERS, ALTERNATE INDEXES, CATALOGS AND NON-VSAM DATA Sets.
The SORT program is used to sort data into a certain sequence or to merge from 2 to 100 previously sorted input data sets into 1 output data set.

This is a only a very small subset of all of the things you can do with DFSORT.
If you're not familiar with DFSORT and DFSORT's ICETOOL, I'd suggest reading through "z/OS DFSORT: Getting Started". It's an excellent tutorial, with lots of examples, that will show you all of the tasks you can perform with DFSORT, DFSORT's ICETOOL and DFSORT Symbols.
