Hi,
Is it possible to write the count of records in a db2 table into a file using DFSORT or ICETOOL?
Thanks,
Suja |

Well, how about you look up DB2 in the DFSORT Application Programming Guide? |

Suja, why would you want DFSORT/ICETOOL to do it? You already have a unload utility so simply you need to write the count(*) query. However if you have the load file then you could get it with Sorts.
And to answer your original question, I am not sure if that can be done. |

Hi Rohit,
Thanks for the reply. I have tried the unload utility count * option. Just wanted to know if the same can be done using DFSORT/ICETOOL.
Thanks,

Yes, the point of looking in the manual and finding no way to manipulate DB2 tables was to indicate a quick way of checking whether it was possible. Quicker than posting here :-) |
