(I'm not sure if this topic is in the right queue)
I was searching in VMBLK of zVM, but I'm unable to find proper place of control block where may I identify "VM READ" state of some running VM machine. Was asking IBM for help, but they replied that we (our company) must have "How-To" support line contract :-).
I need to indentify this state as some program abends (time-to-time) with interraction with IDMS database due to dead-locks (running on zOS). After indentify of such state I can force/xautolog that machine and avoid 15min delay for standard force by the system (please do not advice to rewrite these old cobol programs).
Any help with "VM READ" identification from control block ?
Thank you |

Thank you for response, but I still do not know how can I get that state.
I know how can I get VMDBK information in REXX (for CP READ):
CP LOCATE VMDBK.....
CP D HLN'd2x(x2d(XXXXXXX)+x2d('02BE'))'.1
but still have no idea how can I get VM READ state of machine. |
