Hi all,
I have 5 steps in JCL. I have COND=ONLY coded on Step 3.
My step 2 terminates with JCL error - reason SORTIN dataset is not present.
As per my understanding, Step 3 should execute since cond=only is coded on it. But it doesn't execute.
Messages in spool - invalid disp parameter for sortin dataset in step2 and job terminates. It never goes to step 3.
Sortin for step 2: //SORTIN DD DSN=ABCD.DATA1(0),DISP=SHR
Can someone please point out my mistake?
Thanks! |

Check your understanding of COND=ONLY in the JCL Reference. |

Is my understanding incorrect? The tutorials that i read said steps coded with COND=ONLY execute only when the previous step abends.
Here step 2 is abending, but step 3 that is coded with cond=only does not execute. |

In your first post you send the job was failing with a JCL error. Now you're saying it is abending.
Which is it? It cannot be both. |
