I have different LPARs & wanted to know if it is possible to submit a job from one LPAR on anothe LPAR.

So i have the job job1 on LPAR-A & i want to submit this job from LPAR-b, without explicitly logging onto LPAR-A

can you share some examples of how to use it?

I was wondering for the destination LPAR won't it ask for userid/password used for logging on to it?

I use a JOB statement similare to the following when it is necessary to have it run on a specific LPAR:
Code:
=COLS> ----+----1----+----2----+----3----+----4----+----5----+----6----+----7--
****** ***************************** Top of Data ******************************
000001 //XXXXXXXX JOB (AAAAA,9999),'TERRY HEINZE -- XXXX',
000002 //             CLASS=B,
000003 //             MSGCLASS=H,
000004 //*            RESTART=XXXXXXXX.XXX,
000005 //             NOTIFY=&SYSUID
000006 //*  I AM 'USERID.XXXX.JCL(XXXXXXXX)'
000007 //*
000008 /*JOBPARM  SYSAFF=MNTA     <===  FOR ABEND-AID
000009 //*                    (COMPILE WITH XPEDITER)
000010 //*

"it" being what? And what do you hink the JCL manual is for? (And you will possibly have to consult your support/co-workers to get the required values.)

A forum like this one is a poor place to obtain an answer. The method you use depends on
  • The software installed on the LPARs
  • The configuration of the software
LPARs can be configured in two major ways, but other combinations are often encountered
  • Most, or all, of the I/O devices can be shared by the LPARs. In this environment, the JESx system uses a common job queue for all the LPARs, and the security system uses the same security data base for all the systems
  • Essentially all of the I/O devices are available to one, or perhaps a subset, of the LPARS.
You must consult your site support for answers.

Did you search this forum for XEQ or JOBPARM SYSAFF keywords as suggested above?
